EU and Environmentally Friendly Young Citizens

EU and Environmentally Friendly Young Citizens

After the Student Learning Activity (SLA)
My peers from Turkey/Portugal/Poland/Greece/Croatia, who I met on the mobility in Zaprešić, inspired me to be more environmentally responsible. This is what I have learned from them.

  1. The Polish showed us how they try to preserve their traditional fruits. I think that is a great idea because of biological diversity and because traditional fruit trees are the best for the areas where they have been grown for ages.

  2. I try not to use paper that much because I want to save trees. In today's world with PCs and smart phones that is not so difficult.

  3. I am more aware how we can save water in our gardens. I talked my grandparents to install drop on drop system in their vegetable garden.

  4. I am more aware of the damage we can do as tourists in famous tourist destinations like Plitvice. Massive tourism can be a problem. I am no longer angry when I see expensive tickets for places like the Plitvice lakes. I know they are trying to keep the number of citizens under control.

  5. Activities definitely made me aware of my actions. I have learned a lot about our environment, which is destroyed by many factors, so it is important to save paper, water, electricity and waste segregation. (Ala, Poland)

  6. I learned how much we cause pollution of the environment. We can use electronic devices instead of paper, we should turn the water in the tap when we don't need it, and we can segregate trash by throwing it away. It's so little, and we can protect the environment.

  7. During my stay in Croatia I was taught how to be more cautious with water consumption. Additionally, I learned through many activities how to be more environmentally conscious and what can I do to reduce the pollution that we, humans, cause to the planet!

  8. During my stay in Croatia I learned to care for the environment. I do not pollute the air as much as before. I segregate garbage and use less water. (eg when I brush my teeth, turn off the water), I do not use so much paper to draw as before. Now I respect forests and trees more.

  9. While I was in Croatia I was taught how important it is to save water and the alternative ways I can use to write rather than using paper, such as using devices (for example: mobile phones, tablets or laptops) that technology has offered us.
